Our Story

Adam Jofi McLean is a current publisher of local newspapers, former Deputy Sheriff and television reporter who worked for NBC, CBS and Fox affiliates in Georgia and Mississippi. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Central Florida. Says Adam, "I remember when I got my first television reporter job the News Director of the station told me that they have a reporter named Sheila McLean and asked me if I could go by my first and middle name so viewers would not think we were husband and wife since Sheila was married. Ironically, Sheila is the name of one of my sisters. Since that job I worked under my first and middle name and it stuck".
As a television reporter Adam interviewed President Jimmy Carter, former Majority House Speaker Senator Trent Lott, former Mississippi Governor Ronnie Musgrove, and numerous entertainers. During one interview of a man charged with murder the man confessed to the shooting from his jail cell.
As a Deputy Sheriff Adam worked in both the patrol and narcotic units in North Florida. "I remember one night while working patrol I had to go into the station and turn in some paperwork. Naturally, I was in uniform. I ran into a man that I had bought drugs from while working undercover in the narcotics unit. Needless, to say he was shocked to see me in uniform. He was at the station reporting a stolen bicycle. I went into my lieutenant's office and told him the man was out in the hallway and asked what I should do. My lieutenant told me to arrest him before he could notify other people that our members of the narcotics unit had been buying drugs from who could flee before an upcoming countywide drug bust. But when I went out to arrest him he was long gone."
"I look forward to doing a Podcast where I can not only interview interesting people but do stories on local Tampa Bay restaurants and businesses in a less-formal approach," says Adam.
